Available options include EMI filler panels, air filter and peripheral mounting assemblies. All enclosures include an 80mm rear transition guide deck. The number of rear guides equals the number of backplane slots.

VME64x Card Frames / Card Cages

901 Series Card Frames

This new series of card frames is based on 901 Series aluminum guide clusters, which are a direct replacement for conventional plastic guides. These patented card frames/card cages are strong, durable, and rugged assemblies that meet IEEE1101.10 and IEEE1101.11 specifications. Fully compliant with all VME64 and VME64x standards, the 901series card frames support all keying, ESD, alignment pin and EMI features.

Triple*Ease™ 901 series card frames are available in a broad range of configurations. The front extrusion injector / ejector lip comes standard in aluminum or can be ordered with an optional stainless steel plate for extra strength and virtually unlimited insertion / extraction cycles. The stainless steel injector / ejector lip is recommended for 9U tall PCB’s and cards deeper than 220mm.

MaxAir.10™ Card Frames

MaxAir.10™ card frames are based on the unitized construction pioneered by Triple E. They are ideal for rugged commercial, industrial and military applications. The robust design provides up to 30% more area between card guides for improved cooling performance. In addition to the enhanced CONVECTION cooling, the all aluminum construction also provides the circuit boards a heat CONDUCTION path not possible with plastic card guides. No plastic means no flexing, bending or breaking of card guides with better shock and vibration performance.

NO ASSEMBLY REQUIRED – the fully assembled card frames are available in all standard VME64 and VME64x configurations from 3 to 21 slots with circuit card depths from 160mm to 400mm. Optional IEEE1101.11 compliant transition module available for 80mm cards (other sizes supplied on special order).The all extruded aluminum construction permits endless possibilities for custom non-standard variations. 901 Series Card Guide Clusters

Patented Triple*Ease™ 901 series card guide clusters and decks are strong, durable, and rugged assemblies that meet IEEE1101.10 and IEEE1101.11 specifications. Fully compliant with all VME64X and cPCI standards, the 901series card guide system supports all keying, ESD, alignment pin and EMI features.

Available in 1, 2, 3 or 4 slot clusters, the Triple*Ease™ 901 series card guides come in several standard colors including green (power supply), red (CPU) and smooth aluminum (I/O). Exposed surfaces are powder coated to provide a scratch resistant protective coating. These guide clusters can be assembled onto many other front and rear rail assemblies for “ruggedized “ applications.

VME64x Front Panels

Triple E manufactures and assembles a full line of front panels that meet IEEE1101.10 and 1101.11 specifications. Patented EZ-Mount PCB mounting blocks are extruded into the panel, eliminating parts and simplifying assembly. Triple*Ease™ panels are machined, finished and assembled per customer specifications. When fitted with Triple E’s unbreakable all metal handles, the final assembly will provide years of dependable service and is backed by Triple E’s lifetime warranty against handle breakage.

Key Features and Benefits

Panel:

Extruded aluminum eliminates the bowing common with cold rolled sheet metal.

PCB Mounting:

Integral to the panel extrusion, EZ-Mount™ PCB mounting blocks can be machined wherever needed in the vertical direction with VME spacing of 0.154” from front panel left edge. Reduces parts count and simplifies assembly. In single handle 3U applications, eliminates the need for a hole through the panel for the upper PCB mounting block. Double width (8HP) panel extrusion with integral mounting for a second PCB per the VME specification is also available.

Ejector Handles:

Solid aluminum extrusion with single, twin or QUAD cam construction have a minimum of 0.2" cam travel, allowing for straight and full removal of the PCB from backplane connectors. The twin cam reduces torque on the PCB/Panel assembly, which avoids warping or damage to the PCB. Handles can be customized for non-standard front panel widths.

EMI Gasket:

Triple*Ease™ shielded VME panels are available with Nickel plated BeCu EMI gaskets which provide optimum shielding effectiveness.

ID Labels:

Permanently bonded to solid metal handle surface with self-stick adhesive. Can be printed with logos, part numbers or other text.

Finish:

Durable powder coat finish is available in several standard colors. Can withstand 1000 hours salt spray. Optional brushed finish with Iridite or anodize finish is also available.

VME64x (IEEE1101.10) Handles

CompactPCI Handles, IEEE 1101.10 handle, extruded aluminum handles

Triple E offers the first all metal IEEE1101.10 handle, a significant improvement compared to conventional nylon handles. Extremely strong, Triple*Ease™ inject / eject aluminum handles are backed by a lifetime warranty against breakage. Unlike nylon handles, the solid metal design eliminates risk of out-gassing or burning in harsh or extreme environments. A stainless steel leaf spring will not wear out like conventional nylon types.
